Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about taxes, data, pricing and getting started.
- Where is my data stored?
- In Canada. Backups are encrypted and retained according to the policy in your Settings. You can export your clients, jobs and invoices at any time.
- How does Mr Jobber handle sales tax?
- Taxes are calculated from the client’s province and your tax registrations, using effective-dated rates (GST, HST, PST, QST). Quebec’s GST+QST and the provinces with PST are handled per line.
- Is there a French version?
- Yes. The office app, technician app, client portal, emails and this website are available in Canadian French.
- Does it work offline?
- The technician app queues clock-ins, notes, photos and sign-offs when there is no signal and syncs them when you are back online.
- Can I import my clients?
- Yes — upload a CSV, map the columns and we flag likely duplicates before importing.
- How do payments work?
- Clients pay by card from the invoice link or portal. Payouts and fees are handled by the payment provider you connect; sandbox mode is available for testing.
- Do you send marketing to my clients?
- Never. Any marketing you send goes only to clients with recorded consent, carries an unsubscribe link and is logged — as CASL requires.
